T O P I C     R E V I E W
c_helmGreetings.

I am heading to Carcassonne in early May. (...and why is she telling us this?....)

You might be asking yourself (selves) why I am telling you this. Well, has anyone been there and would like to offer any practical advice on lodging (inexpensive), food (inexpensive, but not lethal),travel (ditto), etc.? This will be my first trip off the North American continent and I am a bit apprehensive. My spouse has been many places, but not to Carcassonne, so I have the task of researching the logistics.

I would appreciate any input.

Sincerely,
Cheryl

TOMHI
I was there last summer
The cheapest thing you can stay is a youth-
hostel -
Another thing I can recomend are the Hotels
called "Campanile" They are cheap and clean
if you take it without breakfast
They are all over France and one you can find in Carcassonne!
You will find them under: http://www.campanile.fr/english/sommgen.htm

France is a very "expensive" country -the food as well - We donīt visited restaurants -
we bought all our food in supermarkets
Thatīs the cheapest way

Tom

c_helmThanks, Tom.

We will be spending some of our time in Spain also, we are flying into Barcelona.

I'll check out the Campanile link.

We will try to avoid the "touristy" food joints, probably picnicing for at least one meal, but we don't want to lug around a lot of baggage.
